SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS

Onofrio’s Ultimate Foods not only takes great pride in producing your product to the highest standards, but also provides special attention to certifications that are required to meet your marketing specifications. We do this using proper certified identification symbols to designate your product’s food class. Onofrio’s Ultimate Foods is an FDA approved facility and follows all FDA guidelines and protocols. We regularly participate in third party audits as well as audits from the FDA, the State of CT, and the city of New Haven. Onofrio’s Ultimate Foods follows a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plan and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).

 

KOSHER CERTIFICATION

We are certified to produce specialty products that follow strict guidelines for KOSHER CERTIFICATION. This will ensure that your product meets all standards for KOSHER production. Our association with STAR-K KOSHER CERTIFICATION provides authentic recognition as kosher parve for all processed foods. We offer this certification with a nominal fee that protects, assures and maintains your Kosher status.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION

As the trend toward naturally grown, chemical-free foods continues to grow, Onofrio’s Ultimate Foods stands ready to help you preserve the integrity of your food products. We also produce Certified Organic Foods. While following the guidelines of using only certified organic raw materials in the production process, we take extra precautions to clean all processing machinery to exclude any non-organic material prior to the production of organic materials. This guarantees that all organic foods processed are protected from contamination from other food products.

WHAT ORGANIC MEANS:
Items that are “100% ORGANIC” are certified to have been produced using only methods thought to be good for the earth.

GLUTEN-FREE

Although no certification is required yet, we have the capability and regularly produce GLUTEN-FREE items. We run all GLUTEN-FREE products first thing in the morning prior to making any other products to avoid cross contamination.

How Does FDA Define ‘Gluten-Free’?

In addition to limiting the unavoidable presence of gluten to less than 20 ppm, FDA will allow manufacturers to label a food “gluten-free” if the food does not contain any of the following:

  1. an ingredient that is any type of wheat, rye, barley, or crossbreeds of these grains
  2. an ingredient derived from these grains and that has not been processed to remove gluten
  3. an ingredient derived from these grains and that has been processed to remove gluten, if it results in the food containing 20 or more parts per million (ppm) gluten

 

NON-GMO

Again although no certification is required yet, we have the capability of producing items that are NON-GMO or items that do not have genetically modified organisms in them.
